It seems that just like so many other things that are out there, the actual functions of websites just continue to evolve. What began originally as a basic platform to showcase a business or body of information has now become so much more. They entertain, they cajole, they elicit emotions and all with the same goal of influencing your visitors to behave in a way that is beneficial to you or your business.

What began originally as a basic platform to showcase a business or body of information has now become so much more. They entertain, they cajole, they elicit emotions and all with the same goal of influencing your visitors to behave in a way that is beneficial to you or your business.

A Newer and Far More Difficult To Impress Visitor

So now it's “website design to enhance customer experience” but there is one crucial thing that must never be forgotten. That is that your website will be posted on the net, which means that you will be but one click away from some very stiff competition. Add to that that todays website visitor tends to have much higher expectations when it comes to entertainment and enhanced experiences.

What “You” Prefer Matters Surprisingly Little

The problem that far too many people have is that they tend to use their own scruples and opinions as guides when deciding on what experience enhancing features to include in their website. That would work, “if” it was only themselves that were to be the sole extent of the sites visitors. However; the fact is that it's John & Jane Q Public who are going to be the people visiting the site.

Good Credible Research Data Is Key To Success

Thew savvy web designer on the other hand will have the good sense to rely predominantly on customer research data to base the majority of their decisions on. Much of where this takes them may not be what they would personally prefer but it will be what the majority of the site visitors will want to experience.

Website Design To Enhance Customer Experience Using the Credible Data

A good analogy would be two Orthodox Jews who live on strict Kosher diets who both have to design entire menus for two fast food restaurants. One goes home and lays awake all night making a list of what tantalizes his or her taste buds. The other stays up all night analyzing data on what the most popular selling fast food items are. Now which fast food joint would you bet your money on?

Why Entertain and Cajole Your Sites Visitors?

So now you may getting somewhat of a better picture of how this is done and now the next step is to understand why things are done the way that they are. You see, whats the point of keeping someone entertained in your site, if they aren't going to do anything that benefits you? It would be as if you were running a video game arcade with no slots for anyone to put their money in.

You Must Get Some Return To Justify It All

Once again, a good website designe company will have the research data in hand to allow them to build mechanisms into your site to benefit your business. Even if it's something as simple as enticing visitors to fill out surveys that you can use in future or ongoing projects, it can easily be done if the designer knows the correct techniques to employ.
