Happiness comes from knowing that you’re taking positive action to gain something that will enhance your life without doing harm to others. Happiness does not come from the action, but knowing the action will result in gaining value.
Would making more money automatically make you happier? Having
more than enough money to pay the bills and be able to take the holiday of your
dreams would certainly decrease the stress levels, but would this change in
economic circumstances bring long lasting happiness?
In these difficult economic times, we worry about keeping our
jobs and having enough money to enjoy a life of comfort, not having to struggle
just to get by on what we earn.
There are sectors in our economy where large salaries and big
bonuses are still being earned, despite other areas still recovering.
I am sure you would like to be part of the economy where you
can see your salary rise. In times of prosperity, every one has a desire to
make more money. But, when there is economic uncertainty, we tend to suppress
our desires and limit our prospects. We ‘make do’ with our current situation
and try to live within our means. You’re enclosed by a sea of doom and gloom –
save more, spend less, and cut back.
Spending less means businesses don’t sell as much and can’t
employ staff. Cutting back on our food bill or not taking a family break
affects our well being and quality of life. Are you happy living in this way?
Are you prepared to go against what has become as acceptable and do something
different to create the circumstances you desire?
Happiness is a
feeling. It’s a feeling that cannot be bought. Having money
allows you to live your dream and meet amazing people. It allows you to choose
a better quality of life, everything from the house you buy, the neighbourhood
you live in, to the food you eat. Where
you travel on vacation, the people you have relationships with, have the very
best health care so you won’t have to wait for vital operations.
Paying the bills won’t be a concern and you wouldn’t have to
worry about starting businesses that fails and leads to arguments with your
partner about money (which is the biggest relationship destroyer ever).
You’ll have complete control over every single area of your
life. You’ll know that you can sustain your life for as long as you live… which
brings HUGE self esteem.
BUT! With all the benefits in life that money can afford you,
will you be happy?
With all the wealth you can
accumulate, you still cannot go into your favourite department store and buy a lump of happiness. It’s
something that’s NOT for sale. If
it was, I don’t think anyone would sell it because it’s worth way too much.
Happiness comes from knowing that you’re
taking positive action to gain something that
will improve
your life, without causing
harm to anyone else.
Happiness does not come from accumulating more money. You must KNOW that having
more money will result in you being able to live a more comfortable life. Then
you feel happiness.
When you actually GAIN more
wealth, you experience a different form of happiness. Elation.
The feeling of elation is fleeting. Fleeting meaning it
only lasts for a short while. But it’s good, nevertheless!
To feel happy in
this moment, take action to
gain a value. By taking action – making
more money – you gain value – improved quality of life and then you can expect to
feel that fleeting feeling of elation
when you gain it.
