Grease Stain Removal with Superior Stanley Home Products

George resembled what he was--a sanitation engineer. He was the most outspoken, self-important, dirty individual that ever wielded a septic hose in Havashaw County. People wished that there was some form of grease stain removal program because George definitely needed to be gone. He would sit on the back of his rig, feet propped on the back bumper and a Stanley Home Products catalog six inches from his nose. He never paid attention to crinkling noses; he just sat their reading about Stanley Home Products while eating a sandwich.

He said that grease stain removal was his main occupation. People only called him out when they needed something cleaned desperately and it usually had to do with a drain that was beyond clogged. He would go in with his sump truck, suck out whatever was in there and then he would make sure that everything was draining correctly before he left. The reason people didn't like him was that he seemed to have an air of superiority about him that did not seem to go with the profession he had chosen.

He could have been something like a Stanley Home Products guy: walking the roads, delivering needed products to people, being respected. His dad had sold Stanley Home Products, but he had gone into sewage with his uncle and befuddled his father and the rest of the town. He said that he saw his uncle as a pretty respectable guy and he wanted to be just like him. This further confused the people because who wants to go into grease stain removal for a permanent occupation?

The reason he did it was a lot easier to understand if you understand his home life. His dad would come home from a few days or week on the road and act like he was happy to be back for a couple of days. Then he would start staying out later at night and after a few times staying out he would come home and beat George's mother. He would tell her that he was the grease stain remover and that she was the stain. He would berate her and then beat her physically.

So George after seeing this all of his young life, and knowing that his uncle had a happy home, decided that sewage was a better career choice. He just figured that there was something out there on the road that made his dad like that and he didn't want any part of it. He decided that he had the best job in town.
