Stanley Home Products Offers A Wood Floor Cleaner

Harold had taken care of the church as long as anyone could remember. He made sure that the grass was mowed all around the place (including the cemetery), he cleaned all of the insides and when Sunday came around he made sure that everything was ready for the service. He buffed the pews and had a wood floor cleaner that he liked to use straight from Stanley Home Products that made the job safe and enjoyable. However the pride of the church was the pulpit.

            It had been carved from a single piece of an old Black Oak tree that had stood on the spot that they were going to build the church about a hundred years ago when it was new. The wood shone under that wood floor cleaner like it had just been varnished. Every once in a while Harold had to call up the Stanley Home Products number and get some new wood floor cleaner to make sure that the pulpit was ready for the Sunday service, but he didn’t mind: it was the pride and tradition of the thing that mattered most to him and the rest of the congregants.

            One Saturday afternoon, after being out brush-hogging all day, he went by the church to polish it up. When he got there it was missing! Someone had pried it up, since it was normally nailed in place, and taken it away. He thought they might be going to burn it because they hated God. They had also trashed his Stanley Home Products catalog and crumpled it up like they were going to burn the church.

            He needed to call the head deacon and the pastor to make sure that they knew what had happened, but he couldn't get a hold of either of them when he dialed their numbers. He finally decided that it was up to him, but he didn't have a car just an old tractor. About that time Riley pulled up in his brand new Cadillac he had bought with the money he received from selling Stanley Home Products. Harold asked if they could drive around and find the pastor to at least tell someone what had happened. So, they fired up the Stanley Home Products mobile and headed that way.

            When they rounded the cornier into the pastor's drive the saw him on his porch with the pulpit, wiping it down with that wood floor cleaner. Him and the deacons had taken it out of the church to clean it and fix it up because reunion Sunday was going to be there soon and a lot of old folks were coming. Harold was relieved, but asked them never to do that again or he would have a heart attack.
