Senior Pastor Dr. David Newell was born in Springfield, New Jersey. He did his undergraduate studies at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. While preparing to work with his father in Wall Street, he had a dramatic encounter with Jesus Christ. As a result of his life changing meeting with the Lord, he enrolled at Princeton Theological Seminary. At Princeton, he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit through a prayer meeting on campus.
The founders of River of Life Church came from diverse
backgrounds, as well as different parts of the country.

Co-Pastor Ina Newell was born in Laurel, Mississippi.
She felt a call on her life for ministry, while a young girl. Ina studied at Loyola University
in New Orleans.
While attending the University, Ina met David in a Spirit-Filled church in the
city, and were married in 1970. They have three grown sons who are successful
in their own right and are serving God as well.
David and Ina spent 25 years on the ministry staff at Faith Church
in New Orleans
under Pastor Charles Green. They developed a powerful youth ministry that grew
to 300 young people, and founded a Bible
College, equipping people
for future ministry.
David and Ina came to Raleigh,
North Carolina in 1997 were they
founded River of Life Church. Over a dozen people now serve on the ministry
team at River of Life. The vision of River of Life Church
brings the Fathers Heart of Love to our community. We encourage our people to stay full of the
Holy Spirit and give away the love of God.

Healing Rooms We are affiliated with Healing
Rooms International in Spokane,
Washington. We minister to the
sick on Monday Evenings and Tuesday during the day.

Prophetic Ministry Twice a month, our
prophetic teams minister words of edification and comfort to newcomers and
visitors who desire this ministry.

Alter Team We train and equip men and women to
serve as ambassadors in Gods Kingdom. They minister through the gifts of the
Holy Spirit in every service.

Amplified Youth These young people love God
and are not afraid to bring Christ to the streets.

Worship Team Singers and musicians who bring
people into fervent worship and praise to the Lord Jesus.

Dance Teams Several dance teams minister to
God and lift the congregation to a higher level of worship.

Prison Outreach - Teams are being trained to
continue ministry to both men and women in the Raleigh area.

Inner City Outreach Several times a week, the
needy are cared for with both food and healing prayer.

Refreshing Stream a ministry dedicated to
healing of the heart and emotions.

Treasure hunters Dedicated Teams receive words
of knowledge from the Holy Spirit and bring the Life of God to a hungry world.
