If you’re looking to recharge your batteries after a hectic festive season then a short break in Suffolk could be just what you need. Suffolk, with its beautifully rolling countryside and its stunning coastline is a perfect destination for couples and families alike.

A popular Suffolk destination for a short break is the traditional town of Aldeburgh, where fishermen haul their daily catch of the day onto the pebbled shores.

Popular throughout the year, Aldeburgh still retains its traditional values and has changed little over the years, unlike some coastal towns that have changed beyond all recognition.

The high street provides a combination of boutiques, galleries, antique shops as well as the regular supermarket store, and even boasts its own cinema.

A few hotels nestle along this stretch of coastline in Aldeburgh but for a short break in a hotel that is away from the busier parts of town The White Lion hotel has to be your choice. Nestled at the quieter end of the promenade it sits literally on the beach with stunning views out to sea, yet within easy walking distance to the high street of Aldeburgh.

All 38 bedrooms are comfortably furnished with ensuite bathrooms and both dining options, the Bar and Lounge and the Restaurant both have wonderful views. With a choice of menus, you can be sure to find a great selection of seafood and fish, along with locally farmed meats and locally grown vegetables, sumptuous hot dishes to keep out the cold in winter months, and delicious fresh seafood and fish cold dishes in the warmer months.

The White Lion hotel offers a warm traditional welcome to new visitors and those that return year after year for short breaks.
