Tenerife is a popular destination boasting year round sunshine and an excellent choice of activities couple with stunning scenery; you can't go wrong with two weeks of holidays in Tenerife.

Tenerife has changed massively over the last two decades any will be almost unrecognisable for many if they were to make the comparison. Nowadays Tenerife is a luxury destination offering a wide range of quality accommodation options and plenty of great attractions from the beautifully kept sandy beaches, immaculate golf courses and various other sporting activities as well as a beautiful countryside just waiting to be explored.

Tenerife is a very popular holiday destination, especially for the British. The Tenerife tourism board have reported than British holidaymakers make up 30% of the visitors to the Island last year. We do love to escape to the sun so with year round sunshine, this Spanish island means holidays to Tenerife are always at the top of many people's desired sunspot. The tourism board says Tenerife attracts and welcomes back almost 79% of visitors to the beautiful island.

On a holiday to Tenerife there are plenty of activities to get into if that's what you are after such as surfing. El Medano is known worldwide as a very popular place to windsurfers and as such attracts many each and every year. There are plenty of excursions that include watching the dolphins and whales.

If you prefer to get off the beach and have a bit of an adventure then it is definitely worth going to visit Mount Teide. This is a truly fascinating island, where else can you be sunbathing on the beach in glorious sunshine and then in under an hours' drive be gazing up at a mountain covered in snow!

Other highlights worth considering on holidays Tenerife include Puerto de la Cruz; found in the north, this resort town is a popular place to visit for tourists. There is the opportunity to relax on the black sand beaches, the Loro Parque (which means Parrot Park), the beautiful and special botanic gardens and for those wanting retail therapy there is a great shopping centre.
