Underfloor heating is widely
used and has in recent years become quite popular, both for new
builds and updating existing property. It is a great source to heat
your house. Even the home- makers who have other ways to heat up
their homes, find it the best and convenient way to keep the warm
ambience around.
It is a technology has a long pedigree-
somewhat 2000 years back, where Romans used to heat up their villas
that require slave work. The stone floor of a villa was raised on
brick piers and hot air from wood fires circulated below it. A luxury
but at someone else cost of hardwork and pain. But with the passage
of time and advancement in technology, it has been reinvented. Modern
underfloor
heating uses either electrically heated
cables, or hot water flowing in pipes, depending on your requirement
and budget.
There are no radiators
or heaters on show. This requires no maintenance, and the heat is
distributed evenly around the rooms. It turns out to be relatively
cheap investment. It is very easy to install in a new build property,
but it can be difficult to retrofit in an existing property which can
be an expensive proposition for you. It warms the air just above the
floor. The warm air then rises through the living space cooling as it
rises. In this process very little energy is wasted and rooms are
heated to make them more comfortable. One can have heated laminated,
lino, stone and even carpet in home. Certainly, there really is no
limit to the type of room you want heated in this way. But the effect
of it reduces if we have carpet floors. Every room in your home
becomes a warm welcoming place underfoot.
One can choose from electric or water
based heating systems. Whichever ways you choose for underfloor
heating, the heat source is located under the floor. The area to
be heated is separated into separate zones (normally one zone per
room) and each zone is heated and controlled independently. One most
important thing to be considered is insulation. Insulate your home
well in order to save energy and money on your heating bills. In
case it is not well insulated, there will be downward heat loss in
the ground.
Look
around and choose the best, cheap and quality service provider. If you
start with just your one room, you
will love it so much that you want to install it in every room of
your home!
