Cleaning products are a part of everyday life. Everything needs cleaning eventually whether it is the home, the office or another commercial building. But choosing and using the right products can save us all a lot of grief.

Everyone needs some kind of cleaning products, whether it is for the bathroom floor, kitchen cupboards or the carpets. This means that a choice has to be made on brand and kind of cleaning product no matter if it is for domestic or commercial application. So here are some do’s and don’ts for choosing those cleaning supplies.

Do:

· Choose environmentally friendly products. Not only those that will not harm the environment when they are flushed into the waterways but products that have not harmed the environment in their production.
· Look for a biodegradable label that tells you the product will degrade quickly and with minimum effect on water and creatures that live in it and drink it – including you.
· Buy samples if they are available when choosing a new product for the first time. This will save wastage if it doesn’t work and you have to throw it away.
· Choose the larger bottle or packet. Once you’ve found something that actually works, choose to buy big. This will save on packaging manufacturing and will also be cheaper for you.
· Follow the instructions on the product - especially the safety ones.
· Dispose of the packet, bottle or waste thoughtfully

Don’t:

· Don’t tip toxic chemicals into the waterways. Dispose them in accordance within local/state regulations.
· Buy artificially scented products. Natural scents are much more beneficial and less harmful
Buy antibacterial products as they are now thought to weaken the immune system. We need a certain amount of bacteria in our lives to give the immune system a chance to work on them instead of attacking our bodies.
