Swine Influenza,
commonly referred to as Swine Flu, is a respiratory disease that
occurs in swine i.e. pigs. This flu, which is caused by the type A
influenza virus, is mostly circulated among pigs for much of the year
but more so in late fall and during winter. These are also the times
when most outbreaks are reported in humans.
The said type/strain of
Swine Influenza is a tad different from the type responsible
for the 2009 outbreak among humans. Investigations into this strain
have not yet revealed its origins but it has been identified as
subtype H1N1 – a new strain of the influenza A virus. The H1N1
subtype borrows in part from avian influenza, human influenza, and
two distinct strains of Swine Influenza. Equally unestablished
is the type of mutation that the H1N1 virus employs such that its
passage from human to human is done with great ease. The good news is
that for majority of the infections caused by this strain only mild
symptoms are manifested. Most persons infected with Swine
Influenza are therefore well placed to make a complete recovery
even without accessing medicinal interventions.
Swine Influenza
has its most common symptoms as coughing, lack of appetite, lethargy
and fever. Alongside these some people may manifest conditions like a
sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea and vomiting. Those at the greatest
risk of contracting Swine Influenza include young children,
pregnant women, persons over the age of 65, and people with chronic
health illnesses e.g. heart diseases, diabetic conditions, and
asthma.
In combating the disease
the use of a swine flu vaccine is well advised. Currently
there are two major types of swine flu vaccine to choose from
i.e. the commercial/conventional and the homeopathically developed
types. The commercial swine flu vaccine currently in use is
widely considered to be ineffective against the H1N1 Swine
Influenza strain. This and more reasons are why most people are
opting for a homeopathic swine flu vaccine.
It is worth noting
that such a homeopathic swine flu vaccine, like all other
homeopathic remedies, is condition-specific in its preparation and
though it presents no toxicity problems it must be taken according to
recommended dosages. Homeopathic treatments work by stimulating our
bodies’ immunity, making it strong and resilient enough to repel
disease-causing microorganisms that we are continually exposed to.
Prior to using a homeopathic swine flu vaccine you are
therefore advised to consult a professionally certified homeopath.
