When your PDF freezes, you can feel confused as to what could be the reason behind this. But if you come to know that all this is happening because of corruption or damaged PDF then we suggest you to go for PDF recovery.
When you try starting
Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, the application might immediately quit
and appear freezing. You might also notice occurrence of error
message saying “Can’t find Acrobat Plug-in.”
If, Acrobat 6.0 or
Acrobat Reader 6.0 was installed on your computer, you might notice
process “acrobat.exe” (Acrobat 6.x) using 95% or more of the
capacity of the system processor as well as process “acrobat.exe”
(Acrobat 7.x or 3D) using 25% or less of the capacity of system
processor.
This error message can
be resolved by performing one of more of the following solutions:
Solution
1-
Delete the temporary files created by Acrobat or Reader and install
the updated version. Acrobat 6.0 and Adobe Reader 6.0 might not
delete the temporary files that were created during normal processes,
like filling in forms. Since Acrobat and Reader check temporary files
while starting up, it might take a long time for checking the excess
of temporary files that can cause a long delay during startup or
appear to freeze. Therefore, to delete temporary files:
Select Start > Run
and type command in the Open text box and click OK
Type the commands
given below and press Enter after every command:
c:
cd\
del acr*.tmp /s
Important- Several
lines of text fill the Command.com window as this process runs. Now
wait for the process to get completed (when the text stops for approx
10 seconds) and then continue with the next step.
Type exit to close the
Command.com window
Install the update or
upgrade the current version (if you using an older version)
Solution
2-
Recreate the Updater folder
We suggest you to
recreate the Updater folder to ensure that it doesn’t contain
damaged or corrupt files:
Select Start > Run,
type %appdata% in the Open text box and then click OK. A window will
appear
Navigate to
\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\[Acrobat version number]\ in the
resulting window
Delete the Updater
folder
Restart Acrobat or
Reader. A new Updater folder is created during startup

3-
Repair Acrobat or Reader
If you repair Acrobat,
you need to have the Acrobat CD-ROM (or access for installing files
on network). Follow the steps given below to repair Acrobat or
Reader:
Choose Start > Run,
type appwiz.cpl in the Open text box and then click OK. Add or
Remove Programs dialog box will appear.
Click Change or Remove
Programs and then click Adobe Acrobat [version number] or Adobe
Reader [version number]
Click Change/Remove or
Change
In the Setup dialog
box, click Next, select Repair and then click Next again
Follow the on-screen
instructions to finish repairing Acrobat or Reader
Solution 4- Log into a
new user account
Create a new user
account that has administrative privileges and then log on to that
account prior to starting Acrobat or Reader.
The
solutions above might help you deal with the situation of freezing
