A society is defined by its people, their culture, social behavior, their thinking and the way they perceive and implement things. Persons living in a particular group form the part of the society living in and are in some way dependent on each other. A society can be referred to a small group, a region or even a country, depending upon the type of its classification.

Social behavior, political strategies, regional policies, secularism are the factors which contribute in running a smooth and wrestle-free society. People’s responsibility towards their country, its assets, and their realization of them being the need of a good citizen is very important to let the country grow in the rightful direction. These responsibilities, acts- to do or not to do, communication style, are ought to be learnt by the citizen of the society from very beginning. They are meant to be trained the way the country wants them to behave. And to train and judge the behavior of different people, we have social scientists or psychologists. The role of a psychologist is to understand the various mental abilities of a human being and the ways in which he performs or reacts to a particular situation and their respective reasons.

 

With the increasing complexities in the daily life, the need for psychologists has increased. Also, students take more interest in this course due to the scope of digging into the human mind and the reasons of their particular behavior at certain situations. Students from the background of medicine can apply for this course, with biology being the subject in their senior secondary examination. The different topics which a student has to study as apart of his psychology course are cognition, motivation, human behavior, interpersonal communication procedures, emotions, perception, attention, personality, human relations, etc.

v     Criminal and legal Psychologists work for the betterment of criminals, they study their behavior and mind set-up to know the reason for their crime and help them getting out of the bars.

 

So, we can say, that a psychology students has very interesting and a challenging career profiles in front of him, by which he also indirectly contributes to the country’s social and economical development.
