In a nutshell, the Wattson Energy Monitor is really just a relatively simple device that measures how much energy you use in your home.

However; it is how it goes about processing and making available this information that is what makes it so amazing.

The Wattson Energy Monitor is made up of two basic components. One is a combination gauge/sender that simply attaches around the main household power cable at your fuse box. The other component is the receiver and processor that sits in your home.

There's also a small hand-held display that can be carried around your home to help in measuring power usage of pretty much anything that uses power in your home. You see, it's by learning about actual usage that you can begin to control and lessen it.

As an example, if you leave a single 100 watt light bulb on full time somewhere in or outside your home, might you be interested in learning how much power it uses each month? Each year? Then would you like to know in actual “real money what that light build costs you each month or each year?

Or perhaps you have a counter-top toaster oven and also have a microwave oven. With the Wattson Energy Monitor, you can finally determine which one uses the least power when you cook with them.  Also with this device you can determine how much power your dwelling uses while you're asleep at night or away at work.

Another important function of this device is that it can be used to determine your average real time power use. That is an amount of power that your homes uses on average at any given time. Once that is determined, you can them program the Wattson to let you know when you're using your average with a glowing purple light. Exceed your average and the light turns red and get redder as your usage increases. A blue light means that you're using less than your average. Nice to know!

The Wattson Energy Monitor is also fully compatible with all types of home power generation technologies. As an example, if you have solar panels, it will let you know when you are exceeding your power generating capacity or using less than is being produced. Two very important things to know.

There is even free software available now that allows the functions of the Wattson to be displayed in far more graphic detail on your screen. Also using this software and your Wattson you can join an online energy saving information sharing community. So perhaps now you can see why many new users report savings of as much as 25% on their first month’s bill.
