Restore Outlook Express after Low Disk Space Error

This error appears when there is still sufficient disk space and memory available. There might be several reasons for the above error to occur:

  • Outlook Express Inbox.dbx file is set as read-only

  • Your anti-virus program is scanning the Outlook Express mail folders

  • Inbox.dbx is corrupt

As per the reasons mentioned above, you might need to apply the following solutions to resolve the issues:

  1. You have to remove the read-only attribute of Inbox.dbx file. For this, you have to locate the file with the Windows file search option (Find or Search) and right-click on the same inbox.dbx file to view its Properties. Now you can clear its Read-only check box and click ‘Apply’ to save the settings.

  2. You need to make sure that your anti-virus software is not scanning your emails of Outlook Express

  3. If the Inbox.dbx is damaged, you can rename, delete or repair the file. To rename or delete the folder, first locate it using the Windows File search option (Find or Search). As Outlook Express is not integrated with any in-built repair utility for its mails folders, therefore, you need to utilize a third party Outlook Express Recovery utility to repair it.
