Starhome offers robust solutions to the Roaming Operation department to optimize network costs.  The Starhome® Optimal Voicemail Deposit™ (OVMD) is Starhome’s roaming voicemail tromboning technology.  OVMD eliminates international tromboning and increases roaming voicemail" usage. Tromboning occurs when two unnecessary international calls that occur when a mobile terminated, are forwarded back home while a subscriber is roaming.

EU regulations due to come into force on July 1st, 2010 state that operators will no longer be able to charge the subscriber for voicemail deposit calls when roaming within the EU. Starhome will receive a Patent for its roaming voicemail tromboning" technology from the European Patent Office on 3rd March, 2010.

A solution that identifies roaming leakage is of paramount importance to the
Roaming Operation department.  Present available solutions make it difficult for the Operation department to focus on the exact reasons of leakage and their magnitude. The Starhome® Leakage Identifier™  solution helps the VPMN identify the location of where inbound roamers are leaving its network and which competing network in the country is benefitting.

Optimization of roaming calls requires a solution that creates new revenue from existing traffic, with minimal change to the HPMN. The Starhome®  Home Rerouting™ solution enables HPMNs to capitalize on a new revenue opportunity without affecting the user or the VPMN, by identifying calls from subscribers that are destined to the home country and routing them back through the home network. By completing the final leg of the call, the home network can collect the resulting interconnection fees.
