Free landscaping tips and ideas even if you're on a limited budget.
If you've been looking at your own yard recently, and are worried about the way it looks, don't despair! You may be frustrated because you trim the lawn all the time, but the yard looks more like straw then grass, you may try to weed whenever you can yet the weeds keep on coming. And to top it off, you might not have a lot of money to spend at the moment. Don't worry! What you simply need are some quick, easy and simply landscaping tips.
First off, one of the reasons your lawn may look like straw and not lush, green grass is that you might be watering too little. While this might sound like common sense, if you couple this with mowing frequently, you could be creating a recipe for lawn-trouble. Ideally water only when necessary and only cut the grass once it because higher than three inches.
Secondly, about the weeds. This could be due to the climate you live in which obviously you can't control. For example, if you live in a damp climate, you might notice more and more weeds because they tend to thrive on humidity. One way to battle this problem is to take some lemon juice and spray it on the lawn. The acidity of the lemon juice can help destroy those weeds.
Yet another idea to help you in your lawn problems is to simply take a walk around the neighborhood. Take a look at the lawns of your neighbors, and make a mental note of things they have done with their own grass that you could do also. You can also ask them about their lawns; don't be shy! They might know a secret that you don't.
One last thing that you can do to help your lawn is to simply check out your local garden center or book store. The garden center will likely have free pamphlets that you can browse through and may even be able to take home, and your local bookstore most likely has plenty of reference materials for you.
Many bookstores now have sections where you sit and read without having to truly buy the book. Obviously, the purpose is that you purchase the book if you believe you'll like it but if you can't splurge on the book at that moment, it can at least give you some ideas that you can jot down in a notepad if you'd like.
Lastly, try searching the internet and look for websites that cater specifically to lawn care and gardening. No matter where you go, and even with a limited budget, you've got plenty of resources at your fingertips.
