Paralegal Studies encompasses many facets of law and includes, but is not limited to, property, probate, family law, torts, civil procedures, contracts and legal research and writing.
You can gain the preparation you need to handle any of the tasks you may encounter during your career as a paralegal. Through your paralegal courses, you will learn how to conduct legal research using law libraries as well as digital and online databases, prepare and write a wide variety of different legal forms, and present evidence and exhibits for trials and hearings. The duties of a paralegal can be challenging, but they are also exciting. What does a paralegal degree do for you? Putting it simply, a paralegal works under the supervision of a lawyer, and are prized at law firms and other businesses because they can perform many of the tasks that a lawyer does. While there are certain responsibilities that are still strictly limited to lawyers, such as giving legal advice or arguing cases in court, paralegals can—and very often do—fulfill a wide variety of different duties. But one thing you can count on as a paralegal—especially if you are working at a small to medium-sized firm—is that you will have the opportunity to work on many different projects. Each day can truly offer a new set of challenges and opportunities with a school of legal studies. Because paralegals can lighten the workload of attorneys, and lower costs for law firms and other businesses, the future of the paralegal career field continues to look good. A paralegal school, the majority of paralegals work for law firms, but many graduates with paralegal course find work in other kinds of businesses, including insurance agencies and state and federal governmental organizations.
