JASON TAYLOR, the former Miami dolphins star has signed a two-year contract with the arch rivals New York Jets. Taylor says he is  committed to helping his former rivals make a Super Bowl run. Taylor admits that the decision was a tough one especially since he played 13 seasons with the Dolphins .

Jason says that there was no other option but to leave the team. Taylor says Miami had not given him an offer which he hoped they would. So after vacationing in Costa Rica last weekend , he signed the deal on Wednesday, after agreeing to the terms. His two-year deal with the Jets is for $13 millions wherein it will be a one year trial. In New York, Jets coach Rex Ryan made it clear to Taylor that they planned to use him the way he's comfortable being used: As a third-down pass rusher.
The first time, before Taylor became a Redskin for one season in 2008, came after he blew off the Dolphins' conditioning program to be a contestant on "Dancing With The Stars." The Redskins actually wanted to keep him for 2009 but he refused to participate in the team's offseason conditioning program and he returned to the Dolphins. But the same cannot be the case again.. If asked to spend offseason time in New Jersey, he will have to be there. He needs to come to the Jets with the same kind of passion he digs in the jet fans, says his agent, Gary Wichard.

Taylor knows that some jet fans will be disappointed to have a thirteen year long rival in the team. He also admits openly that he would have liked to be a part of the Miami dolphins if things had not gone wrong.
