Unfortunately, an increasingly high number of dogs are suffering from obesity which can be brought on through several ifferent lifesty leissues; e.g. lack of exercise, the wrong types of food and so on. Unfortunately, an increasingly high number of dogs are suffering from
obesity which can be brought on through several different lifestyle
issues; e.g. lack of exercise, the wrong types of food and soon.
Additionally, just as with humans, obesity can also lead to further
health problems such as diabetes, but due to the inability for humans
and dogs to communicate these things often go unnoticed. Some dogs
look incredibly cute with a little extra weight around their middle,
but this could be severely impacting their health. Here at
Ideas-4-Pets we know just how important it is to look after your dog’s
health, so we’ve got a few tips to help you along your way.

If you’re not sure whether or not your dog is overweight or not a good
way to gauge this is how easily you can feel their ribs. You should be
able to feel their ribs quite easily underneath their fur, if there
appears to be any fat covering their ribs then you should perhaps
consider a doggie diet. If you are concerned about your dog’s weight
you should consult your local vet for an examination to investigate
for any underlying health problems.

Exercise also plays an important part in your dog’s health and
exercise amounts will vary with each breed and size of dog. If you do
find that your dog does tend to carry extra weight around with it,
then more exercise may be needed. Equally, if you and your family are
out for quite a few hours a day having a dog kennel outside can be
much better for your dog as it allows it to roam freely outside
without being trapped in a dog cage all day. You can personalise their
dog kennel with a dog bed so they are comfortable to stay outside for
longer periods of time. It isn’t fair to leave your dog within a dog
cage all day unless the dog cage allows plenty of movement.
