A Thai squad wins the World Rescue Robot Championship 2010, held in Singapore during 19th June to the 25th June 2010.
Director of Corporate Communication Office of Siam Cement Group (SCG) Miss Assawasittithaworn, as the sponsor of the competition, declared that iRAP_PRO, a team from the King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, won the contest which was the second yr from this team as the championship.
It is 5 back-to-back years for the winner of RoboCup contest from Thailand. This year iRAP_PRO team led all rounds of competition with scores of 740, while other two Thai teams BART LAB Rescue from Mahidol University and Success from Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin win the 2nd place in the championship with equal scores of 530.
The 4th and 5th ranks belong to CASualty Team of Australia and PELICAN UNITED of Japan respectively.
Robot World Cup Initiative is an international research and education initiative. It is an attempt to foster AI and intelligent robotics research and advance this field of knowledge amongst youth around the globe. Many countries has sent their teams to join the event yearly.
