With the World Cup finished, let us look at football's finest players and see where they stack up against other premiere athletes in the soccer world.

There are plenty of debates on which soccer player is the best, but only two players remain constant in the arguments of soccer fans the world over. And those are Lionel Messi of Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aviero also known as Cristiano Ronaldo. These two have reached the pinnacles of the soccer stage and have reaped the reward so of their achievements.

Cristiano Ronaldo, explosive and pacy and an astonishingly prolific goal scorer for a winger. He specializes in long-range free kicks and shows the ability to shoot from anywhere.

Both coveted by their respective teams and countries and feared by their opponents, these players boasts the rank of No. 1 and No. 2 in most, if not all player rankings lists around. Though many will argue about their status and rank, no one can argue about their skills and the stuff that they can bring in the pitch.

Here are some names who are conceived to be at par with the world's best:

Didier Drogba, a talismanic striker and physical specimen whose power makes him practically unplayable when he puts his mind to it. Can score all types of goals and excels as a lone front man.

The names above are just a few on player rankings that are filled with talented and excellent football players that the world has come to love, hate, admire and cheer for.

Some winners and some losers in the world's greatest soccer stage, they leave the World Cup with pride and head home from South Africa knowing that they have served their country well. We will now watch them play for their respective clubs and see how they fair as they are teamed up and playing against the best their respective leagues have to offer.
