The Merrell Intercept Advantage

The Merrell Intercept is a multi-sport trainer designed for speed. No matter what the terrain, the Axis tread pattern and Vibram sticky rubber lugs bite into loose dirt and mud to give you a firm and secure footing, even on wet and slippery trails. With great traction you can pick up the pace with a specially formulated lug pattern designed not to clog up with mud and add to the weight you need to carry.

The structure of the shoe is similar to that of a running shoe, with a snug and supportive fit giving the right level of cushioning to take the sting out of running on hard ground, but keeping it to the minimum to give great ground feedback.  Sitting low in the shoe to improve stability, the heel is held in place by an In-Board™ compression moulded EVA foot frame, with a Merrell Air Cushion running the length of the midsole to absorb the shockwaves from running on hard surfaces. 

Merrell shoes are famed for their comfort fit with an Ortholite footbed for extra cushioning, moulding to the shape of the foot for comfort. Tiny holes promote the flow of air to the feet, and a microfiber lining helps to wick away moisture. The uppers are constructed from synthetic leather with mesh liners to maintain breathability and a protective rubber rand and toe guard to add extra protection when moving over rocky terrain and walking through mud.

An Aegis Antimicrobial treatment is applied to reduce the risk of foot odour for good foot health, with anatomical arch support provided by a moulded Nylon arch shank for long term comfort and to help you walk for longer without tiring. For the ultimate in protection and for winter running in the wet, the Merrell Intercept features a Gore-Tex gasket to keep external water out of the shoes. A bellows tongue makes for a tight and secure fit, forming a waterproof seal and preventing dirt from getting into the shoes.
