Human resources training ensures that HR representatives.
Human resources training ensures that HR representatives and team leaders within your organisation are able to make ethical decisions and set and maintain high standards. A team leader needs to initially lay down what the standard of ethical behaviour should be with their team members. This should precipitate an open forum where the staff can discuss these practices and how it will affect their work. It can be very effective to draw up team agreements, which include statements that the team have agreed to adhere to in terms of how they interact and work with their colleagues.

When team members sign into an agreement it acts as a benchmark from which to gauge whether individuals are maintaining the principles of that statement. Team leaders themselves must act as role models in order to achieve the best response from the team. A team leader must follow ethical behaviours in all their actions so that the agreement is not undermined in any way. However it does not suffice for team leaders to follow this ethical stance. It must be a companywide approach and HR consultancy can help to educate senior management also who must champion ethical behaviour in order for it to become the culture of the company.

If management or team leaders allow something unethical to take place then the agreements established with staff are worthless. A strong code of ethics can help to minimise instances where a grievance could be raised against the company. It will help the managers and team leaders to adhere to employment law and avoid the need to have tribunal representation due to a failure to follow appropriate measures. The cultural shift towards an ethical code of practice can sometimes take time to bed in but the long term benefits are significant.
