To cope with the punishing conditions of winter walking in the countryside, Merrell produce a range of highly supportive and protective shoes and boots designed to keep the worst weather conditions from spoiling the comfort of your feet. Through wind, rain, snow and on Ice, Merrell boots and shoes offer all the protection you will need for enjoyable invigorating exercise in the great outdoors.

Merrell are an American performance footwear manufacturer based in Vermont in New England, and are used to highly seasonal weather conditions which can turn off-road walks into arduous and punishing challenges. Designed to cope with slippery autumn leaves, thick mud, driving rain, the heat of the summer, and mid-winter snow and ice, they combine the latest technology with the highest quality materials to ensure the feet are kept in perfect comfort.

Merrell shoes are constructed from lightweight materials to keep the weight of the shoes to the bare minimum, easing the strain on the muscles in the feet and legs to help you walk for longer between rest stops. Offering support for the arches and a high degree of cushioning, they compliment the muscles, tendons and ligaments in the feet to allow a natural and smooth movement from heel to toe. The range of winter walking boots is no different, despite having to cope with more punishing conditions, the designs are still highly flexible and lightweight, with added features to ensure maximum stability and grip for the most difficult weather conditions.

For the highest level of protection in mid-winter, when snow and ice threaten to curb your walking habits, there is the Merrell Col.  Featuring in the Womens Merrell and men’s range, the boot breaks from the traditional trainer based designs for which Merrell are best known, and uses the more traditional styling of a leather walking boot. The boots offer maximum protection to keep the feet well insulated, yet are highly breathable to maximise air flow for exceptional moisture management. Whilst many walking boots take an age to break in, Merrell boots offer a comfort fit from day one, with soft linings and leathers limiting the chance for abrasions, whilst still providing excellent protection.

Extra stability and support is required for tough terrain, which is provided by a Grade 4 Nylon insole which protects the feet from the strain of prolonged hikes, and can cope with the additional weight of a backpack. A moulded nylon arch shank gives support to the arches to help the feet remain fresher for longer, and Merrell TrailBound™ Technology and a Merrell Air Cushion in the midsole provides extra support and the right level of cushioning for the feet, designed not to degrade over time. With the feet well supported and protected, Merrell add a Vibram® Col Outsole with a TC5 Sticky Rubber tread to give real bite in mud and snow, with a good balance of stickiness for grip and robustness for durability.

With Merrell winter boots on your feet, you will have the confidence to leave the house in all weather conditions, and a spot of rain or a snow flurry will not deter you from getting out into the great outdoors throughout the winter.
