The constant work pressures, duress of meeting the targets, and tension at workplace as well as at home has made many innocent people victims of panic attacks. The people who suffer from panic attacks feel helpless when one of these attacks happen to stem in between their daily work. It really becomes a great source of harassment for these poor people actually. They feel clueless and it’s indeed a headache for their family members to run to the doctors as soon as they see the symptoms of panic attacks surfacing.

Definitely, doctor is a necessity but at times to keep the situation under control there are some home remedies suggested that can really do good to the poor patient. One really does not need to be at his or her wit’s end as soon as they find the panic attack symptoms are getting the better of the person.

Inhalation of aroma

During panic attacks, it is a good idea to inhale some aromatic products. They do a great job in reducing the symptoms of panic attacks. If the person plans to travel then it is a good idea to carry such a product. Usually baby powder fragrance does good job in reducing the symptoms of panic attacks. Apart from it, the smell of confectionary or freshly baked bread can also calm the person. It has been scientifically proven that these sweet smells can effectively bring about some amount of relaxation to the patient.

Walk up and down

Instead of sitting at one place and praying that the symptoms of panic attack would soon subside, it would be really intelligent if the victim walks up and down. It is not necessary that the patient should literally pace up and down and toss himself but he can definitely walk at very slow speed in order to bring or restore normal conditions.

And while he is walking it would be very effective if he can inhale and exhale very deeply. Inflate the stomach with as much air and feel the tightness; if the tightness is felt then one can be sure that the breathing technique is really effective and good.

Another good way to restore normalcy is to ask the person to count backwards starting from 100. This is effective as it engages the mind into something which requires presence of mind. So naturally the focus is shifted from the attack and the mind will be involved in some other work and hence it would stay busy.

Massaging

It is a good idea to massage one side of the neck and shoulder, but be careful to see that the massage is done at any one side and not at both the sides, or else it would create a feeling of strangulation.

And the massage should be done about as gently as possible so as not to obstruct the flow of blood in that region, if massaged vigorously then chances are that the person can grow unconscious.

So here are some home remedies that can bring about some amount of relief to the patient.
