1. You can limit your diet all you want, but you’ll have to do some exercise if you expect to keep the pounds off. When you first start off, anything is better than nothing so at least try to get out and walk around. As your level increases you can look into joining a fitness studio" or health club to bolster your exercises.

2. Have you ever recorded exactly how much you spend on eating out? Do yourself a favour and figure it out, and then try to calculate how many calories you consume during a restaurant meal. You might be shocked at some of the numbers, and hopefully it will point the way to cooking for yourself in the future.

3. Always make sure to drink plenty of water each day, and especially once you’ve started to exercise. It’s important to keep your body well hydrated, and it will help to cut down on your appetite as well.

4. Listen to your mother and make sure you eat breakfast. It’s important to start off each day on a good note and breakfast is the perfect way to do that. In fact, don’t skip any meals and try to keep a regular schedule that you can stick with.

5. Losing weight is always more fun when you do it with a friend. So enlist the help of a good buddy who also wants to lose some pounds. It’s always easier to exercise with a friend, and even a family member might want to join in as well. Build up your support system because you will certainly need them when times get tough.
