Formed in 1937; VW have gone on to experience great success with a number of key models, including the VW Beetle and the VW Golf. But just what is it about the VW Golf that makes it a great all-round vehicle?
Volkswagen is easily one of the world’s largest and most
renowned car manufacturers. German in origin, the Volkswagen Group is now the umbrella
company of some of the most popular car marquees in the world. Key names
currently under the Volkswagen blanket include Bentley Motors, Audi, Bugatti
Automobiles and SEAT.
Originally founded in 1937 by the National Socialist Trade
Union German Labour Front, Volkswagen was one of the first companies to begin
manufacturing luxury vehicles under the Hitler regime. In fact, some of
Volkswagen’s first vehicles were manufactured under instruction from the man
himself.
Since then Volkswagen has gone on to manufacture vehicles
which are popular all over the globe. One of the most popular leasing models
has turned out to be the Volkswagen Golf. For those unfamiliar with the model,
the Volkswagen Golf is a small family car which first went into production back
in 1974.
Nearly 40 years on and the Volkswagen Golf has been
successfully marketed across 6 generations. The model has found success under
the Volkswagen Rabbit alias in American and Canada and the Volkswagen Caribe in
Mexico. Popular for both leasing and purchasing, the model originally replaced
the brand’s Beetle model but has since surpassed all expectations. By March
2008 nearly 1,500,000 VW Golfs had been sold on the British market, making it
the eight most popular car ever to be sold in Britain. So just what is it that
makes the Volkswagen Golf such a good all-round lease model?
Golf
leasing is popular undoubtedly down to the model’s universal
appeal. Originally manufactured as a hatchback, the Golf has since gone on the
enjoy revivals in the shape of estates (Volkswagen Variant), convertibles
(Volkswagen Cabriolet) and saloons (Volkswagen Jetta/Vento). It’s these
revivals which have left Golf’s competitors in the slow lane in comparison.
In addition to versatility, the Golf also produces sleek
lines and high performance levels that no other model has ever come close to
matching. Constantly topping consumer lists, the VW Golf has managed to combine
style with quality to produce stunning results.
Another reason for Golf’s success is its ability to change
with the times. The VW Golf has had several generations made into electric
CityStromer models. Newer electric Golf models include the Golf blue e-motion
vehicle which has a range of 93 miles and is expected to go on the market in
2013. And it’s not just Golf electric
models which have made the cut. VW have gone on to produce the Golf Twin Drive
plug-in-hybrid vehicle in a bid to get into the hybrid market. This vehicle is
set to do well with consumers who are now beginning to think about their carbon
footprint when buying a new vehicle.
So, there you have it; roof that the VW Golf really is the
best all-round model currently on the market for purchase and lease. The
question you now need to ask is which version and which colour is best for your
needs?
