Here are trouble-free things anybody can do to speed up a slow computer.

Can often be more than one reason for a computer to rune slow. Major issues regarding slowing down of a computer are usually due to too many programs running at the same time. This results in raising the total of time needed for the program to process.

Another problem is often due to not enough memory in your computer, which is commonly known as the RAM.

Also impermanent internet files get stored in your system and they take up a lot of memory space making the computer unhurried.

Here are some easy tips how to speed up a slow computer and make it work faster.

First stop all unused application. The right side of the taskbar which is at the bottom of the computer screen shows the number of programs that are running, partially or fully. These programs regardless of the state reduce the memory and the processing power. Closing these unused program icons speeds up the computer. There is selection for selecting and closing down these programs which can be done by the user.

Doing a shut down, also known as a cold reboot can speed up your computer. Some programs do not close properly so they do not release memory. Warm resume also sometimes fails to release some of the drivers and some other core programs in memory. The computer needs to be shut down completely and then restarted.

The operating systems are designed to hold on to those programs for a specific time. Shutting down the system for a few seconds will cause the processing chips to go to the default settings; and they will start up fresh when the system restarts. 'Memory Leaks' can be cured by simple rebooting of the machine when it starts getting sluggish.

Emptying the recycle bin will also speed up the computer. Deleting files simply from the hard disk doesn't really delete them completely; they are moved to a temporary holding area on the hard drive which is called recycle bin.

Uninstall all applications that are not used because these applications especially games take up lots of space. Uninstalling these files will create a lot of free space and speed up your computer.

Defragmenting the hard drive disks also speeds up the computer. It is a system by which files, documents and application are compacted and compressed to free up space.

Running antivirus software guards the system against viruses and malwares which make the computer vulnerable to security threats and slow up the system.

Deleting temporary internet files also creates free space. Temporary Files are used for supporting some applications and programs for a specific period of time and are left unused most of the time.

Another important step that can help in increasing the speed of your computer is adding up some more memory to the existing memory. Modifying the computer hardware's and chips within a span of five years keeps your computer quicker and upgraded with the modern trends in the markets. Always use master operating software which has all authentic patches and updates in place of the pirated ones.
