Step by Step Instructions:

1. Ensure the use of NTFS file system

Ensure that Windows XP is utilizing the NTFS file system. First, double-click the My Computer icon, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties. Next, examine the File System type; if it says FAT32, and then back-up any important data. Next, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the prompt, type CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS and press the Enter key.

2. Remove Malware from your system.

Open My Computer > click on the Tools menu Folder Options, look for View tab>Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers and Launch folders in a separate process check box > Click Apply > Click OK.
