I won't make any bones about this but firstly, it has to be said I didn't enjoy the idea of relocating to an office in the US and didn't see how we were going to be happier in a foreign country.
The simple reason was, I was blissful and so please with where I was living currently.
We were lucky to have a great home, a perfect family car and a joyous life that was wonderful compared to some people.

The simple reason was, I was blissful and so please with where I was living currently.
We were lucky to have a great home, a perfect family car and a joyous life that was wonderful compared to some people.
I sat down and though about if I would miss having easy access to my family unit and virtually being able to see them any time that I could fit them in. There were even small things to miss too like bacon butties in the morning, an English breakfast with all the trimmings, the post office where the scales always needed to be adjusted when I needed to use and the old man across the street who always liked to talk about football.
I couldn't let things like sentiment over cultural differences get me down and let my career slide , especially with the US office market showing some incredible prices, I took it upon myself to move as soon as possible. I let my family know that we had come to a decision to move to the US, otherwise we would be letting emotions getting in the way to gain true expansion that we would have to move to the US.
I wanted to make the transition as smooth as possible, so I made sure all the moves were in place so we could be in a suburb like we were used to and got the children into a close-knit school that was understanding of their uncomfortable situation of leaving home for a different country and knew that they would require more assistance to assimilate. We had to make this choice with them in mind and made sure they understood why we were leaving for a new home. The move has gone very smoothly and I have to say that it has been a wonderful transition for us, we now love living here. So here's a few of my favourite things about living in the US.
1) The food is wonderful here. I was at first sad to leave behind English food, well it has turned out to be one of the best reasons to go to the US. These world famous restaurants I now dine in are just out of this world and cannot compare to the service and food I got in England.
2) The offices are so much better. We decided in the end to take Addison office space and we don't regret it. Our important facilities are easily accessible in one place such as great parking spaces, speedy internet and a conference room that make meetings with clients and business associates much simpler.
3) The community is more friendly. Although we have the advantage of being an English family who are polite but we have found that the locals are incredibly friendly and can't do enough to help you. The stores here treat you so much better regardless of how much you are spending or what it is you need.
That was just a small insight into the reasons why making our office move to the USA has been a positive and now we don't miss England at all.
