If your current van fleet is a bit out-dated and can’t meet your needs anymore then it might be a good time to trade-up to a new model.
But where do you start? There are so many vans out there but which one is the right one for your company.
Because this can be a bit of an issue when considering a new model, here are a few things to consider when making your choice.
1) Firstly, what do you need it for? Are your employees going to be using it for delivering settees or installing satellite dishes? Depending on the nature of your business you may want a van with a lot of space for fitting in furniture or instead you may want a really compact van with great storage facilities.
2) Next, is the van purely functional or is it for giving an air of professionalism? If it’s all about function then you may want a metal lined van that has been designed for easy cleaning. However, if it’s about giving the right impression you may want a van with lush carpets and interiors. In fact, you may even want to put your company logo on the side of the van as a way to create a company identity.
3) Do you need an open top pickup truck or more of a secure van? A pickup style truck can be great if you need flexibility or transporting heavy building tools, cement or sand. Alternatively you may need more of a secure van, which can store a lot of packages or parcels.
4) Will tools be kept in the back of the van? If so, you may want to consider getting a van with additional safety features such as extra strength locking mechanisms and shatter proof glass. These features are great for ensuring that any tools you leave in the van are kept safe.
5) Heavy goods or just the odd package? You may need to find out the weight-load of the van because you will have to know whether it can meet you requirements. You don’t want to get a van and after a few heavy loads find out that your suspension is shot.
6) Take a test drive. Once you have identified the van that you want for your company arrange a test drive. A lot of firms are very accommodating, for example last year when I needed a few new vans we decided that leasing a Toyota Van was the right move, so we booked a test drive and the staff were extremely helpful.
Hopefully, you will be able to use this advice and get the right van for the needs of your company.
