Marketing is the only way to increase a client base, yet many business owners and managers still do not know where to begin. Business coaching holds up a mirror to them that reflects their own potential, and the best road ahead.

Many of the world’s finest athletes have much to thank their sports coaches for, including helping them unlock the potential that was latent within them. They needed a visionary to show them what they could become, and a guiding light to lead them on their way. In the process, they learned new things about themselves, started questioning preconceptions, and were able to visualise what they had the capacity to become. Business coaching works the same way - it helps business managers and business owners maximise their own, and their business’s potential.

A good way to illustrate this is to analyse how business coaching can help a client increase their customer base and achieve sustainable, lasting transformation of their business results.

 1.     Planning for Success Many owners and managers that I work with are initially unable to see the wood for the trees. They are also so busy keeping ahead of cash flow that they are literally unable to sit down and think things through. I show them that planning is the key to successful business. Together we work on documented plans for business growth, with milestones that take you through the implementation stage. These programs include scenarios for known likely outcomes to ensure that my client is best prepared.

 2.     Motivation, or the lack of it, is in my opinion the greatest indicator for success or failure, and we all lack the strength and will to get going from time to time. This happens especially after a particularly tough put-down by a new contact. By working with me, my clients learn that external motivators are not the answer. The power to move forward lies within us – we just need to learn how to draw it out.

 3.     Maintaining Direction When moving forward with a marketing program, it is important to keep in mind where you are heading, and remain focussed on your destination. Sustained marketing effort is never easy unless you remain mindful of the successes that await you. I can show you new ways to remain disciplined, and how get this right first time.

 4.     Marketing is the only way I know of to get new customers and increase sales. The key to marketing lies in understanding your customer and interpreting their needs in terms of what you offer. A good business coach can assist you to adapt your particular products and personality to them.

 5.     Self Awareness, which is an understanding of your own strengths and weaknesses, is the key to harnessing the power of your potential for winning new customers. A coach’s mirror will help you see yourself as others see you, and what you could become.

 6.     Problem Resolution can help you close the gap between what you sell and what a potential client needs. I could show you to proven methods to turn contacts into clients, and obstacles into successes.

 7.     Fine Tuning is an ongoing process that helps us to move forward and stop relying on the past. A business coach is an irreplaceable sounding board as you find new skills within you, and want to put them to the test.

Business coaching can assist in many other ways as well. Why not explore this opportunity to help close your strategic gaps?
