The Code named Tour is one of the latest phones from Blackberry which packs some impressive features. Starting with the design to the quality of the calls, keyboard, etc are worth some praise. However when considering the wireless networks the negation of WiFi will disappoint some users. However, thanks to the popular 3G (with great implementations) some of the disappointments are being taken care of. In the next section I will discuss some of the specifications of this latest phone.
The weight is almost 4.6 (4.58 in exact terms) grams (+ battery-cell). The width is 62cm, length 112cm and the thickness or the depth is 0.56 in inches. It's certainly slimmer version when considering some other devices from the same manufacture. Anyway as mentioned earlier the physical characteristics look beautiful as always. There are no multiple color choices. Only the Black version with some mixed Grey in it. The display is also good but won't pack the best outlooks. The color quality is set at 65K and the resolution is 480x360 in pixels. The area + the resolution are high in the standards even in comparison with some other latest phones such as the Nexus One for instance.
The memory can be expanded in later according to the user requirements through the microSD slot. Another cool feature is that when you purchase it 1GB of memory card is supplied with the package. The internal 256MB of storage data area is used to store most of the OS and other applications. The camera is a 3.2 Megapixel device. It can take some quality pictures and consists of a digital zooming of 2x, Geo tagging (automatically inserts the image location) are among few other popular functions. This may not be one of the best latest phones when it comes to entertainment but the overall audio and video playback and quality was really good. MP3, WMA, AAC, eAAC, MPEG4, H263, H264 codecs are supported by default.
Almost all email clients are supported thorough the few main protocols such as the POP3 for example. The internet experience was also satisfying. The web browser did load pages and flv video-contents reasonably fast thanks to the faster 3G access. Through their application store users can easily download and install apps to the mobile phone without much of a hassle. The battery has a talk duration of five hours and around 14 days of standby time. The overall call quality was also excellent. So if you can forget about the WiFi this is certainly great latest phone and certainly worth the money you pay for it.
