Used DJ equipment for astonishing savings

Reduced price DJ equipment – ex display, B Stock and so on – can be bought online for as much as 66% less than RRP. They are the right choices if you wish to get good stuff at cheap rates.
Buying new DJ equipment can be a financially daunting experience. The industry standard turntables, mixers and monitors a DJ needs to feel sure that he or she is giving their money’s worth in every situation often cost well over £1,000: a lot of money to spend on equipment that can be had for less when it’s bought second hand, or as ex display or show stock. When a person knows where to look, he or she can save themselves hundreds of pounds – even as much as 50% – off the recommended retail price of the kit they simply can’t do without.
There are a few websites around now that cater specifically to this market: in particular, the UK’s own Why Buy New – which, as its name suggests, is all about selling premium quality DJ equipment at astonishing prices. Take, for example, the standard CD turntable used across the industry – which is available repackaged on the site for more than £300 less than it is in shops. Or their simple selection of “B Stock” (B Stock basically refers to any item that has been used as a display model, or as a demo model at a trade show) turntables, some of which are being offered at a mere 33% of their recommended selling price. This is DJ kit as it should be sold: right to the DJ at almost cost prices.
The business model is very simple to maintain, which is why these sites are able to keep themselves afloat. While there’s nothing wrong with DJ equipment that has been used for window display, in a trade show or simply repackaged (sometimes a new package comes out that makes existing stock obsolete), it can’t be sold in stores any more. Certainly it can’t be sold for the prices the manufacturers sell their newly packaged or unused stock at. Which means it’s either not going to get sold at all – or sites like Why Buy New can pick it up super cheap and sell it on at correspondingly low prices.
A turntable, for example, that has been used as a demo in a trade show may have been switched on for a grand total of, say, 72 hours. That’s nothing in the life of an item designed to experience severely heavy use on a nightly basis. In other words, this kind of B Stock DJ equipment is, to all intents and purposes, brand spanking new – and it’s being sold for the kind of price a person wouldn’t usually get it for at a jumble sale. Why, indeed, buy new when one can get this kind of deal on what is effectively unused kit?
It’s not a new idea, this cheap selling of ex display or superseded stuff: but, where the DJ is concerned, it’s a particularly excellent one. DJing is horrendously expensive and every penny saved on kit represents a penny earned for the equally necessary records, CDs and so on that the DJ plays. Reduced price DJ equipment is clearly the way forward.
