Despite promises of weight loss, some fitness programs do not deliver results as expected by clients enrolled in such programs. However, blame cannot totally be put only on the program - there is also a need to determine what the client has done to keep up with it. Read on to know more about how these two are related to each other.
People who want to lose weight are confused because although weight programs promise them that they'd be in shape in no time, they still have difficulty shedding off those pounds. Figuring out the facts from fiction is one key to determining what really works and what doesn't.

First on our weight loss facts, fad diets will not work! Losing Weight should be geared towards the long-term effect and fad diets just wont cut it. Fad diets include non-consumption of foods in the diet thus depriving itof the very nutrients needed for the body to function well. Side effects of these include general feeling of weakness, heart rhythm abnormalities, and gallbladder problems. Even if people get fewer calories with this kind of diet, health is still greatly compromised.

The next fact talks about the most important thing in losing weight. Exercise. Eating healthy foods will only provide the necessary energy you need. Regular exercise will still be the key to shedding off those pounds. You can even lower the risk of you acquiring heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, and even high blood pressure.

If you thought that high protein/low carbohydrate diet was effective. Think again. Eating only protein will only lead to high levels of fat and cholesterol in the body. You will feel weak and tired for most of the day. Proper consumption of carbohydrates should be done because it is the source of the body's energy. A high protein/ low carbohydrate diet also facilitates formation of ketone stones.

Contrary to belief, starches such as beans, yam, potatoes, cereals, pasta and bread will not make you fat because they actually are low in fat and calories. You only get fat because you take in large portions of this in one meal. Learning to balance your meal is a must to be able to attain your goal.

Herbal products or natural remedies are not safe for consumption. Consult a medical doctor before even thinking using one. These drugs have no scientific basis on them and they may do more harm than good for your body.
