Are there any holes in the walls? Is your carpeting stained? After you fill out the form make a copy and return the original to the manager or landlord. Keep your copy in a safe place. Many renters today also take pictures of the interiors upon move in, or even video the interior of their new temporary home.

Before you move out of your apartment try and schedule a walk-through with individual who will be in charge of assessing any damages that you will be responsible for. They should give you an idea of what items you will need to repair if any. Some renters will hire a professional cleaning service to give their apartment home a through cleaning.

After you move out you should receive your deposit back in a certain time frame as required by law in your state.
