Unwanted e-mails in Outlook can create major issues as they lead to an inflated PST. Therefore, in order to keep Outlook and the PST file in good working condition, it is important to delete unimportant mails. If you delete certain mails, considering them not useful anymore, they get transferred to the 'Deleted Items' folder. If you end up deleting an important mail, you can rely on this folder to get your mails back instantly. However, if you delete an e-mail and it is not there in the 'Delete Items' folder then it becomes quite tricky to retrieve that e-mail. This situation occurs with many Outlook users who in their bid of getting rid of unwanted e-mails end up deleting an e-mail (s) containing vital information. The problem becomes grave when it gets too late to perform deleted email recovery from the 'Deleted Items' folder.

This article describes the ways which you can use to recover deleted e-mails in Outlook 2007. Outlook 2007 gives its users an option to amend their mistakes and avoid disastrous situations resulting from accidental deletion of important e-mails. You can recover deleted e-mails from Outlook 2007 even when the 'Deleted Items' folder has been left emptied. Wondering how? Well, the deleted email recovery can be performed in Outlook 2007 using 'Recover Deleted Items' option. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Start Microsoft Outlook 2007

  • In the left panel, select the folder from which you have deleted e-mails

  • Now select Tools, click 'Recover Deleted Items' option. You will receive a window which will depict the deleted e-mails from the selected Outlook folder.

  • Select and recover the required e-mails by hitting 'Recover Deleted Items' option

  • Mails would be saved at their original location

The above-mentioned steps detail you on how to recover deleted e-mails using the inbuilt recovery option available in Outlook 2007. However, this option can only be used if you are connected to Microsoft Exchange Server. The Exchange Server administrator sets a retention time for the mails and other Outlook items which are permanently deleted. If this time goes by then it is impossible for you to recover a single mail.

In all such situations, there still lies a hope in the form of a third-party deleted email recovery software. These applications are developed to recover deleted e-mails/items when Outlook 2007's inbuilt utility fails to deliver expected recovery results due to its limitations.

For recovering permanently deleted e-mails from Outlook and Outlook Express Recovery, you must download and use Stellar Phoenix Deleted Email Recovery. This application recovers deleted e-mails and other items from PST and DBX files of Outlook and Outlook Express, respectively. The deleted email recovery software supports MS Outlook 2007, 2003, 2002, 2000 and Outlook Express 5.x, 6.x versions.
