What your bag says about you

Bags can often say a great deal about the owner. The right designer handbag, for example, lets the world know that its owner is at a certain point in her life while a cheaper, copied bag may say that its owner aspires to be something else but actually isn’t. Similarly, if you stand by the baggage carousel you can sometimes match the luggage to the individual just on appearance. Certain bags ooze class whilst others do not. We all know this even if we do not realize it. Even carrier bags have their own message, regardless of whether it is printed on the bag or not.

If you are a retailer, it does not matter what it is that you sell; you are likely to have to provide some form of packaging for your items.  Depending on what you sell you will need to think about what this packaging say about your shop to the customer, and to anyone who sees them carrying their purchases. For an elegant clothing shop, for instance, carrier bags need to look far classier than those from the corner shop that are likely to carry tins of food. Plastic bags with the name of the shop emblazoned on them are great for middle range items or chains but if you are in the business of selling cheap and cheerful, then cheap bags are perfect.
