Self defense for women has always been a hot issue for conservations among social gatherings, normal daily conversations and etc. Self defense perhaps is among the top concern for single women these days. It has become a huge issue among women in the society today from domestic violence, parking lot assaults and rape cases. Women are believed to be the prime targets for such types of crimes anytime and at anywhere.
Self defense for women has always been a hot issue for conservations among social gatherings, normal daily conversations and etc. Self defense perhaps is among the top concern for single women these days. It has become a huge issue among women in the society today from domestic violence, parking lot assaults and rape cases.  Women are believed to be the prime targets for such types of crimes anytime and at anywhere. Hundreds of rape cases are continually being reported all around the globe each day and several studies & reports have shown an increasing trend throughout the years. The sad truth about rape cases is that almost 95 percent of them remain unreported to the authorities. Same situation applies to murders, robberies, sexual assaults and other crimes as well. Women are not that safe anymore and this harsh world renders every female specify vulnerable to vile things such as these crimes.

But the good news is that more and more women are taking those proactive measures to prepare themselves for unfortunate things that can happen. A good way to jump start your self defense tactics would be to develop a good sense of confidence in yourself. If men can do it, why can’t you. Think about the environment we live in nowadays. The recent statistics show that someone gets sexually assaulted in every 2 ½ minutes in the United States alone. This will tell you that no one is immune from the violence of this world. It does make sense to prepare yourself from the adversities. Spare yourself from becoming the next statistic.

Prepare yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. Physical preparation is the key when it comes to learning self defense for women. This can help you build that self confidence needed in any assault situation. Experts believe that some of the reasons why most women become victims of assault include getting caught off guard, panicking and not thinking clearly.  With the use of common sense, a little courage and appropriate practice, you can boost your survival instincts. In order for you to totally excel in self defense, you must both be prepared mentally and physically. Carrying self defense weapons such as pepper sprays, stun guns and tasers may not be enough. Attending a course and practicing what you have learned will increase your chances of survival. Occasionally practicing several self defense techniques will charge your confidence to win an assault.
Be aware of your local environment and do not, by any chance, let yourself be caught on guard. Get a copy of a nice instructional DVD that can teach you survival techniques in a street attack. Try to learn the art of fighting back in desperate times. Carry around some self defense weapons such as pepper sprays and stun guns wherever you go. Keep yourself armed with these self defense items at all times.

Learning self defense for women may not be as easy as reading a set of self defense books and watching martial arts movies. It needs a lot of patience, practice and presence of mind. Learn the basics now and avoid being the prey!
