Magnetic Tape – The Ultimate Adhesive

Magnetic tape can be used in many different ways around your home, work or school.  On the front of magnetic tape there is an adhesive face and on the back a magnetic face, meaning that you can stick the magnet to a number of surfaces.  Magnetic tape is thin, flexible, versatile and affordable, which makes it useful for a number of applications. 

Of course Martha Stewart has created an excellent household use for magnetic tape – by adding it to your dustpan.  All you do is stick a piece of magnetic tape at the back of your dustpan (the end closest to the handle) and then when you sweep up your floors you can easily trap any nails, screws or other small metal objects that have found their way onto the floor.  This dustpan enhancement works great in the home but also is a good addition for the garage or shop.

Match pole magnetic tape is a slightly different form of adhesive magnetic tape, which is made for applications where you have magnet attaching to magnet.  Match pole magnetic tape works by having one roll magnetized as “side A” and the other roll magnetized as “side B”. 

A third type of adhesive magnetic tape is high energy magnetic tape, which is used for more powerful applications.  High energy magnetic tape has almost twice the magnetic pull strength as regular magnetic tape, making it perfect for industrial applications or heavy duty usage.

Magnetic tape is great to use in your shop or garage as a way of organizing tools, bits, screws and nails.  You can use magnetic tape in your home to organize your child’s toys and keep them off the floor.  Magnetic tape can also be used in various spots in your home or workplace, for example to hang items to metal walls or frames.  Magnetic tape is also an excellent tool in schools and can be used on chalkboards or to help decorate the classroom.

Another form of magnetic tape that is not adhesive is the form of magnetic tape that was widely used in the past for data and audio storage.  This magnetic tape is used for magnetic recording and is made of thin magnetisable coating on a narrow, long strip of plastic.  This technology was used for video cassette tapes, audio tapes and in radio studios. However, using magnetic tape for data and audio storage has been outdated and is being widely replaced with newer technologies and ways to record data and audio.

On the other hand, adhesive magnetic tape is not outdated and is a useful and current tool that has many excellent, versatile uses in the home, office, workplace, shop, garage and classroom.  This adhesive magnetic tape is a great way to stay organized and reduce clutter in your home.
