Cash flow is the amount of money left over after you subtract your expenses from your income.

There is a lot of emphasis put on making more money in the home business industry, but there is little talk about reducing expenses.

Managing your personal finances is just as important as managing your business finances.

Quite often people who have been employees for the majority of their lives and have developed the habit of being in debt and living paycheck to paycheck, suddenly wake up and realize that the key to escaping the
rat race is to start a home business.

Unfortunately their poor money management skills carry over into their home business and they end up having a negative business cash flow as well.

They have always thought that the answer to their financial problems was more money, without realizing that the true cause of their financial turmoil is their own self-defeating habits pertaining to money.

So naturally when they start a home business, their primary focus is on making more money and achieving a certain position in their company, without much regard to the amount of money they are spending on a daily basis to get there.

If you truly want to escape the rat race of life it is important that you learn  how to manage your both your personal and business finances.

This may require changing your spending habits, while at the same time developing your saving and investing habits.
