People might not know it but laughter can really be helpful for the body. It might seem that only the psyche is involved in this matter but believe me, laughing can also cause you to become physically healthy. Read this article to know the reasons behind it.
I bet you’re familiar with LOL (Laughing Out Loud) and LMAO (Laughing My A** Out) and that you use them a lot in your chat conversations. But do you know that LOL and LMAO are not only good expressions you can use when chatting over the internet? An actual laughter can bring your health more good than you already know.
One of the ways our body repairs itself is through sleep or relaxation. When we relax the stress in our muscles and nerves are released. Laughter is a way of relaxation according to experts and it gives our body the same benefits that exercise does. Even induced laughter they say can improve your mood so when you’re feeling a bit down, just say the words Ha Ha Ha Ha. Make sure nobody sees you or they might think you’re losing it.
An amazing thing about laughter is that it gives us a lot of benefits without us being conscious of it. You probably don’t know that when people laugh their body releases what we call T-cells. These are actually lymphocytes from the white blood cell group that act as soldiers because they fight certain tumor cells and other disease-causing cells. T-cells also strengthen the body’s immune system by preparing it for past infections that might occur once again.
Another chemical that body releases when laughing is endorphin. This chemical that is located in an area in the brain are considered to be the body’s opium or pain-killer. They are also released during exercise, pain, orgasm, excitement and relaxation.
Doctors aren’t quite sure about the cause of this one but according to them a good amount of laughter each day can protect the human heart from various diseases. One explanation that they have is that laughter gets rid of stress that we all know can contribute in the hardening of arteries in the heart.
There are probably more other benefits that we can get from laughing out loud but what we have here are the popular ones. Laughter can not only give us good health, it can also help us overcome the adversities of this life no matter how difficult they may be.
