Fitting out a warehouse with used pallet racking allows businesses to expand in good order – rather than holding out too long with a warehouse no longer capable of filling their needs.
Warehousing
can be an expensive business. Fitting a warehouse out with new storage kit is
nice, if you can manage it – but most of the stuff in a warehouse works just as
well second hand as it does first. Used
pallet racking, for example, can represent a huge saving in terms of cost
with very little difference (if any) in the performance stakes.
Pallet
racking is designed to take a bit of a beating. Pallets, often bearing
extremely heavy loads, are raised onto pallet racking by extenders and fork
lift trucks. All of these things have a very obvious common property: they hit
the edges of the pallet racking; they scratch it; they dent it. That’s what
racking is for – and that’s why stocking used
pallet racking instead of brand new shelving can be a very good idea.
Used
racking can be bought or rented on price plans that represent major savings for
a business. Those savings, in these times, are vital – they can be funnelled
into other areas where there’s less room for manoeuvre, ensuring that vital
systems or bits of kit remain up to scratch.
Used
racking is always supplied in fully working order. Go to a reputable storage
solutions company and you won’t find anything out of place – no twisted or
seriously dented struts, all beams level and lockable. Used pallet racking is available in all the configurations, lengths
and arrangements one would expect to find in brand new racking, and is capable
of supporting the same weights in the same environments. The only difference is
the price.
In
most cases, used racking will be delivered and installed, just the same as one
would expect one’s new pallet racking to be. All major retailers and renters of
handling equipment should be able to make delivery and to fit whatever
arrangement of depths, high frames and long beams the customer requires.
Used pallet racking
is ideal for businesses starting out in warehousing; or for existing businesses
that wish to expand without committing too much in the way of funds to the operation.
Expansion, particularly, is a difficult thing for a smaller business to do: the
temptation is always to wait until the workload is large enough to definitely
generate the money needed to pay for extra warehousing. Waiting that long,
though, involves running two risks – one, that the existing warehouse space
will cease to meet demand too soon; and two, that running with a restricted
warehousing capacity for a growing business can lead to orders getting lost or
taking too long to fill.
Buying
used pallet racking to expand means
that the outlay involved is less – and that means that the new warehouse, or
extension to the existing warehouse, can be completed at the right time for the
work load rather than the right time for the money.
Don’t
let storage space get too big a problem – expand horizons and sales alike with
pre-used pallet racks. They’re the most sensible solution: for storage and for
cash flow.
