Bridal Shower Favors and Keepsake Ideas

Among the many events for a wedding, one that has a long tradition and a means of celebrating is the bridal shower. This is a lot of work to set up and has bridal shower favors that are either given by the bride or by those that set up the bridal shower. Many times these are little gifts that are involved with the wedding shower or are given to those that show up as a means of giving thinks for them to show their approval to the wedding itself.

The bridal shower was a tradition that originated from two circumstances - either the bride's family could not afford the dowry or the bride's family did not approve of the wedding and this was the means that the bride's family could compensate for the dowry. This would make it possible for the bride to marry the man that she had chosen to give her life to. This is why the importance of the bridal shower favors had remained even to this day. The bridal shower is a means of the bride's family and friends to given their blessing of the wedding and to given their love in a celebration.

Many times the favors are given by the people that throw the shower for the bride. These are usually the bridesmaids and close friends of the bride. Sometimes these are just given as thanks, but many times these are based on the events that are planned for the bridal shower, which makes the members of the bridal shower feel more involved in the events that are planned. Most of the time these bridal favors are something that are simple and not of an expensive nature. This is not always the case, but in most cases, these are focused on the appreciation of the people being there.

In modern times, the bridal shower is either designed and ran by the mother of the bride or the bridesmaid. These are usually large events that involve the mothers of the bride and the groom, female family members of both the bride and the groom, and all respective friends of the bride. This is considered in some places as a huge event as it is a right of passage into womanhood which makes the whole concept that much more important. It also means that the bridal shower favors are more extravagant and more focused on the celebration of this passage. This is usually very common in areas of Europe and in areas of South America.

Most bridal showers are planned for twenty or less people and are thus planned for that many. This can make unexpected visitors feel that much more left out if there are not enough bridal shower favors to go around. This is also further compounded if the bridal shower favors are designed for a theme of the events that night and are given out for a purpose.
