Budgie training requires mastery. Tame the budgie first before you start giving full training so as to get acquainted with each other. Soon enough you'll find yourself the master of all masters in BUDGIE TRAINING.

Budgies are cute creatures that can mimic speech, just like its parrot relatives. Build trust and you and your budgie will go a long way. There other things to consider once you give budgie training to your new pet. It is known that birds know how to perch; but that’s on trees.  Here are simple steps to follow in allowing yourself to be the personal trainer of the pet you just brought home from the pet shop.

Be persistent: You really have to be determined to try to help your pet in overcoming shyness or by being apprehensive.  These qualities are most likely to affect your relationship with the bird. As birds come from the wild, it is a must to take extra precautions in dealing with them. They can either fly away whenever they get the chance or stay isolated in a corner within their cage. Take things slow.  Do not rush them.

Build trust:  Slowly open the cage and put your hand, palms down, for as slow as you can get.  Make eye to eye contact with it and see if he budges.  If not, then try to slide your hand to where his feet are. If it moves towards your hand, be grateful.  It means that he’s responding to what you need him to do. In giving budgie training, like with other birds, appear to be worthy of its trust.  Never ever try to move your hand fast.  Do not deviate from that line.  Birds get scared with fast movements. They’d look at you as the predator.  They will try to bite you; do not yell or shout.  You have to appear calm and gentle so as to show your budgie that you are not after him as food. Instead, touch his beak gently and pat it. Do this every time he bites you so he would know that you are still the same caring person.

Talk to your pet: Assuring words that you are his friend will help build rapport between the two of you.  It is not enough that you give budgie training to have them do things right; you also have to train them to be loving.  Mention few endearing words everyday that you would want to hear your pet say to you.  You must not forget to appreciate your pet’s looks—there is some kind of being vain in them.  Tell them how amazing and beautiful they look like; these are words they want to hear you say.

Appear sure and confident:  This quality will make you look like a respectable person in the eyes of your budgie.  Even animals know how to show respect.  You have to be firm—every day you train them there has to be a routine.  Do not forget what you have instilled in his mind.  Routines have numbers.  Follow the pattern. Once your pet sees you as forgetful, aren’t you ashamed it might even give you a reminder to have things done the right way?

Feed with love: It is never enough to give your pet its food served on a small tray.  Try to tear small pieces of it and place it on your palm where he can have a bite. Being mindful of your pet’s concern will certainly lead you to become the greatest pet trainer of all; with a dash of love here, and a dash of patience there, that’s successful budgie training!
