Sometimes you would just feel so worked up because of the buildup of stress and tension in your body. This feeling is unpleasant and no one is supposed to feel this way. Read this article for information about ways on how to combat stress.
At some point of our lives, we sometimes wish that it were 30 hours a day just for us to get tons of work done or to be able to get some sleep. Sometimes we wish that stress superheroes do exist to rescue us from situations that cause too much pressure. And sometimes, we just want to run away and hide and leave all the stressful things behind. But we know that these things are impossible and superheroes do not exist. Finding and practicing ways to manage stress is the best solution.

Stress may come from internal and external environment. Stress is necessary for survival. It gives life spice and excitement. The main reaction of the human body if placed under pressure is to activate the nervous system and release adrenalin and cortisol in the bloodstream. These hormones then speed up the heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure and metabolism. This enables the body to react quickly and effectively on pressures at the certain moment. However, if stress is not properly managed, it can undermine both the mental and physical capacity of a person.

The first thing you should do to manage stress is to find out the cause of stress. Being able to trace the real cause of stress helps you deal with stress more effectively. But, doing this is not as easy as it may seem. Sometimes stress is caused by a bad habit or improper time management.

Secondly, avoid self-medication or escape. Oftentimes, if stress is too much for a person to handle, he will result to smoking, drinking and drug addiction just to mask the stress. This is not a proper way to handle the situation; in fact, it will make things worse. Instead, face the cause of stress and find a way to cope up with it.

Lastly, exercise regularly. Aside from keeping your body healthy, exercise also makes the body release hormones called endorphins that are responsible for giving a person a happy feeling.

Managing stress is all about being in charge with your own life. It is all about taking full control of yourself, your emotions, your schedule and your environment. Learning to beat stress is not something you learn overnight; however, with constant practice and self-discipline, you will be able to stay in control under stressful conditions.
