A painting created by Pablo Picasso in 1905 is entitled Garçon à la Pipe is also one of the famous paintings in the world. Garçon à la Pipe also known as Boy with a pipe was painted by Picasso when he was still 24 years old. The painting was sold for 104,168, 000 USD at Sotheby’s Auction in New York in on May 5, 2005. The buyer of the painting was never revealed although it was thought to be the owner of the Barilla Group, Guido Barilla.
Another painting known in the world is the abstract painting of Jackson Pollock called No. 5, 1948. This is one of his paintings related to the abstract expressionist movement. The painting was created in an 8’ x 4’ sheet of fiberboard. It is said to have a nest-like appearance and it contained thick amount of brown and yellow paint sprinkled on top of it.
