Men are always unwilling to tell women the truth. Sometimes they are just white lies because they don’t want their women worry about them. There are some lies that most men like to say to their girlfriends or wives.

1.      I am fine.

Reason: to recover from hurt by themselves

Men always say “I am fine” when they meet with problems or get hurt. Actually they just need some personal space and time, and then recover from the frustrations on their own. Men are the same with women. They will fail and feel frustrated and depressed. However, blood is a kind of award for men and they usually refuse to accept sympathy and comfort.

2.      My ex-girl friend? Nothing special.

Reason: self-protection

Many women are very curious about the ex-girl friend of their men. They always want to know something about them. What does she look like? Is she a soft or a hard woman? And something like that. But most of men usually take it as a private thing and don’t want to talk about them. It is no doubt that they want to skip the topic. At the same time, the men know that they should be honest but they can not let their wives down. So in most of the occasions they choose to tell lies.

3.      You are beautiful in this dress.

Reason: to avoid argument

One of the most frequent questions that women ask their husbands or boyfriends is that “how do I look” in a newly bought dress. And nine out of ten husbands will give the answer, that is, “you look beautiful in this dress”. On one hand they don’t want to hurt the women on their self-respect, and on the other hand, they try to avoid unnecessary trouble by saying that the dress doesn’t fit you very well.

4.      I can fix it.

Reason: to protect their self-respect

If the man can non fix something at home, he will probably say that this thing can not be fixed and can not work any more, and what they should do is to buy a new one. That is totally a lie. Because once he admitted failure, and let the wife fix it or call at somebody to fix it, his poor little self-respect will be badly hurt.
