hyness isn't uncommon and many people have experienced some degree of shyness some or different time in their life. Shyness can be debilitating and in extreme forms will result in social phobia that is one in all the foremost common mental disorders worldwide. Shyness will be a variant of temperament for some people and for others can be a disorder that affects their daily lives. In things where shyness affects one's life these individuals can refuse to enter into any new situations or eat in front of other individuals and several avoid having conversations and these are candidates that experience social phobia.
Statistics have shown that one in each eight folks develop social phobia and that these subjects have a physical outbreak of physical symptoms such as anxiety attacks, dry mouth, having problem in swallowing, increased heart rate, sweaty palms, hesitant speech and an urge to escape their situation.
A case report of a 19 year recent boy stated that up until his sixth grade his life was totally traditional and that he excelled at college and came from a smart family when he reached sixth grade he started feeling different whereby be became nervous and anxious around people and believed that he wouldn't be liked by his peers. He then went on to saying that concern started to rule his life and his greatest was to feel embarrassed or humiliated and his concern gradually intensified. He would calculate his each move and continuously had an overwhelming feeling that he was being watched and scrutinized by everyone.
He then began to avoid social situations with the thought in mind that if he retracted he would not make any mistakes. Eventually he convinced himself that he wasn't meant to be a socially assured person and consequently developed a terribly low self esteem. He stated that he was absolutely responsive to his situation which sometimes he would have a burst of confidence that created him realize that he had a drawback which he himself had created his state of affairs which there was a stunning society out there that was friendly which wasn't filled with fear.
Once he graduated to school he assumed that this social phobia would disappear and that it absolutely was simply a high faculty phase. Unfortunately his worry continued to plague him and he carried this social phobia through to adulthood. Fortunately he was able to differentiate his true nature vs what he had become and located skilled help. After therapy and treatment he's once once more his old self. Alas this is often not the case of the many thousands out there which have not found a resolution to their social phobia.
A certain quantity of anxiety is normal and healthy and could be a common human experience however when anxiety and worry are out of proportion and affects a child life and developmental stage the kid can then be clinically diagnosed as having social phobia syndrome. This can be one of the foremost common disorders in children and adolescents.
