8 kinds of common food which may contain bacteria or is easily been infected.
1. chicken
A
national survey of Consumer Federation of America shows that the rate of
campylobacter infection in chickens is up to 42%, and the Salmonella is 12%,
these both could cause gastroenteritis. The experts advice that it is better to
soak the raw chicken in water for some time before cooking, and they must be
full cooked.
2. minced beef
A
survey of the U.S. Department of Agriculture found that 30% of the minced beef
contains Staphylococcus and 12% of them contains Listeria monocytogenes. They
would cause food poisoning or blood infection. The experts advice that if you
make meat pie, do not fill too much stuffing, or else, the temperature in the
pie can not be high enough to kill the bacterium.
3. fresh oyster

There
are many kind of bacterium in the fresh oyster shells which could cause
diarrhea. The experts advice that you’d better not eat them raw, if you have
to, you’d better dipped it in garlic, ginger, vinegar or lemon juice, added
with wine for sterilization.
4. honey-dew
melon
U.S.
Food and Drug Administration found that there is salmonella in 3.5% of the
honey-dew melon’s skin cracks, which could cause diarrhea. The experts advice
that never buy cut honey-dew melon, wash them 15-30s under the tap water and
scrub them with brush before eating.
5. peach
U.S
Department of Agriculture found that to make peaches smooth and clean, the
farmers would spray pesticides weeks before peach harvest. Experts advice that
clean the peaches with brush or peel them before eating.
6. eggs
Boling
eggs and not fully cooked omelettes are most likely cause food poisoning.
Experts advice that do not eat cracked eggs, put the eggs into paper box and
then put the box into the fridge of the lowest temperature; be sure to wash
your hands if you touched the eggs.
7. scallion

Food and Drug Administration found that the onion that is not clean could cause
hepatitis. The experts advice that the room temperature could cause the
salmonella breed easily, you’d better clean them completely, strip the surface
and then store them in the fridge.
8. cooked food
U.S
CDC found that the cooked food stored in the fridge is most likely been
infected by Listeria monocytogenes, because this kind of bacteria normally
breed in cold environment. The experts advice that eat less cooked food, those
cooked meat and sausages which have not been eaten more than one week should be
thrown away.
